International Traffic At AUS?

Does anybody see any potential markets from AUS to any international destinations? I know that we have at one point had service to YYZ on AC, and CUN via T9 / Funjet (only current, albeit seasonal international service). I also seem to recall MX and Aerocaribe operating out of AUS, I swear I remember MX had service to MEX, and Aerocaribe went to CUN. Frontier also operated to CUN for awhile. Sometime within the next 20 years, the master plan calls for the addition of a third parallel runway, a new terminal in addition to the existing one, which would be expanded, and the redoing of taxiways and runways to make them A380 capable. Would this entice any overseas international service, or any other international markets in the future? I realize that as far as most things go, we have a very limited market, despite our high tech industry, but I think there would be room for a weekly flight to some European or Japanese destination. Thoughts?

By the time the city of Austin needs a new airline terminal, all we'll need to do to get to london is say "BEAM ME UP, SCOTTY". The gates at the current terminal aren't even fully utilized.

In short, I see little or no demand for additional international traffic in Austin, other than small expansions to the existing mexico/caribbean leisure routes. The airport is not a hub, and is too close to DFW and IAH. Maybe if a category 5 hurricane wipes houston off the map and continental decides to relocate to AUS.....
